Speech Language Pathologist
Melanie Shultz, M.A., CCC-SLP
Melanie Shultz, M.A.,CCC-SLP is the President of Specialized Speech Technologies, Inc. She earned her Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from The Ohio State University. She is a member of the American Speech Language Association and the International Association of Orofacial Myology. She is licensed by the Ohio Speech and Hearing Professionals Board. Melanie specializes in Orofacial Myology (Tongue Rest Posture, Nasal Breathing and Thumb Sucking Elimination). She has been in practice since 1997 where she worked for a contract company and private practice until October 2001 at which time she opened Specialized Speech Technologies as her own private practice. The Specialized Speech Technologies, Inc. Team has been proud to serve the Columbus, Ohio area providing quality Speech, Occupational, and Physical Therapy services for the past 20 years.

Tracy Jungwirth, PT, DPT
Tracy Jungwirth started her career as a Physical Therapist with Specialized Speech in 2014 and rejoined Specialized Speech in August 2018 after practicing in the Seattle area for 3 years. She graduated from Ohio State University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition. In 2014 she earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Ohio State University. While completing her degree in physical therapy, Tracy completed additional coursework to graduate with a specialization in pediatrics. She is licensed by the Ohio Board of Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Athletic Trainers as well as the Ohio Department of Education. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association- pediatrics section and the Ohio Physical Therapy Association.
Tracy has experience working with children birth to 18 years in a variety of settings including early intervention, schools, clinic, aquatics, and home health. She has a passion for pediatrics and enjoys helping children reach their goals and maximize their potential. She enjoys making therapy fun and engaging for children. Tracy has additional interest and passion for feeding and helping children and their families overcome mealtime challenges. She is certified in the Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) approach to feeding.
Tracy lives in Worthington with her husband and two dogs. Outside of work, Tracy enjoys hiking with her dogs, horseback riding, and traveling.

Marla Marrero, B.A.
Marla Marrero joined Specialized Speech Technologies, Inc. as the Billing Supervisor in May of 2010. She graduated Cum Laude at the University of California, Irvine with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and Social Behavior.
Marla was the director of Insurance and Finance for a nationally renowned eye surgeon prior to leaving California. Marla has over eighteen years of billing experience and looks forward to helping patients meet their personal goals through assisting with their therapy claims. Marla is always available to answer your questions and concerns regarding insurance coverage and benefits.

Emily Masterson, M.S., OTR/L
Emily Masterson joined SST in August 2014. Emily graduated with a Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from Keuka College, located in the Finger Lakes area of New York State. Originally from the Columbus area, Emily returned to Ohio with her family to pursue her career in Occupational Therapy. Emily has experience in various settings, including outpatient, school based, aquatics and home based. She specializes in treating the pediatric population, focusing especially on sensory integration, feeding, motor skill development, visual motor integration, life skills and early intervention.
Emily is a trained SOS therapist. She is certified by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy and is licensed by the State of Ohio.

Mona Mehta, M.A., CCC-SLP
Mona Mehta comes to Specialized Speech in November 2008. She earned her undergraduate degree in Mumbai, India and graduated with a Master’s Degree at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She has experience working in schools, outpatient clinics and in nursing homes. She has worked with children of all age groups with a wide variety of speech and language disorders.
She is particularly interested in infant feeding and swallowing disorders and has continued to gain knowledge and experience in this area throughout her career. She is certified in DPNS and Vital Stim, both which are techniques used in the treatment of swallowing disorders. She is certified with the American Speech and Hearing Association, and is licensed by the Ohio Board of Speech and Hearing Association. She is also a member of the Ohio Speech, Language and Hearing Association (OSHLA).

Reha Rathod, B.A.
Reha Rathod joined Specialized Speech Technologies Inc in July of 2022 as the Front Desk Administrator. She graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Arts in English. She speaks over 5 different languages and is a master in the lingual art of sarcasm!
Reha has over 5 years of experience with an administrative background and a year of Billing experience from working at Mount Carmel and Central Ohio Primary Care. However, being an aunt to an amazing niece and nephew has given her an edge and allowed her to connect with children on a different level. Some of the kids even say she’s pretty cool! She loves the opportunity to work with families and help them achieve their goals.
She is available to answer any scheduling and account concerns!
