Melanie Shultz, M.A., CCC-SLP
Melanie Shultz is the President of Specialized Speech Technologies, Inc. She earned her Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from The Ohio State University.
She is a member of the American Speech Language Association and the International Association of Orofacial Myology.
She is licensed by the Ohio Board of Speech-Language Pathology. Melanie specializes in Myofunctional Therapy (Tongue Thrust Correction and Thumb Sucking Elimination). She has been in practice since 1997 where she worked for a contract company and private practice until October 2001 at which time she opened Specialized Speech Technologies as her own private practice.

Speech Language Pathologist
Nicole Capoccia, MOTR/L
Nicole Capoccia joined Specialized Speech Technologies in August 2013. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from West Virginia University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts in Health and Human Performance. She received her Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy in 2004 from West Virginia University. She is certified by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy and is licensed by the State of Ohio.
Nicole is currently in her tenth year of working in school-based practice and has worked with children ranging from preschool to high school age. She also has experience working with children and adolescents with physical and cognitive disabilities within the home setting. Her interests include visual motor integration, visual perception, fine motor development, vocational and life skill development, assistive technology, and handwriting. Her passion is in working with the pediatric population and their families, and she strives to make therapy sessions fun and meaningful for the child.

Tracy Jungwirth, PT, DPT
Tracy Jungwirth started her career as a Physical Therapist with Specialized Speech in 2014 and rejoined Specialized Speech in August 2018 after practicing in the Seattle area for 3 years. She graduated from Ohio State University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition. In 2014 she earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Ohio State University. While completing her degree in physical therapy, Tracy completed additional coursework to graduate with a specialization in pediatrics. She is licensed by the Ohio Board of Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Athletic Trainers as well as the Ohio Department of Education. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association- pediatrics section and the Ohio Physical Therapy Association.
Tracy has experience working with children birth to 18 years in a variety of settings including early intervention, schools, clinic, aquatics, and home health. She has a passion for pediatrics and enjoys helping children reach their goals and maximize their potential. She enjoys making therapy fun and engaging for children. Tracy has additional interest and passion for feeding and helping children and their families overcome mealtime challenges. She is certified in the Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) approach to feeding.
Tracy lives in Worthington with her husband and two dogs. Outside of work, Tracy enjoys hiking with her dogs, horseback riding, and traveling.

Marla Marrero, B.A.
Marla Marrero joined Specialized Speech Technologies, Inc. as the Billing Supervisor in May of 2010. She graduated Cum Laude at the University of California, Irvine with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and Social Behavior.
Marla was the director of Insurance and Finance for a nationally renowned eye surgeon prior to leaving California. Marla has over eight years of billing experience and looks forward to helping patients meet their personal goals through assisting with their therapy claims. Marla is always available to answer your questions and concerns regarding insurance coverage and benefits.

Mona Mehta, M.A., CCC-SLP
Mona Mehta comes to Specialized Speech in November 2008. She earned her undergraduate degree in Mumbai, India and graduated with a Master’s Degree at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She has experience working in schools, outpatient clinics and in nursing homes. She has worked with children of all age groups with a wide variety of speech and language disorders.
She is particularly interested in infant feeding and swallowing disorders and has continued to gain knowledge and experience in this area throughout her career. She is certified in DPNS and Vital Stim, both which are techniques used in the treatment of swallowing disorders. She is certified with the American Speech and Hearing Association, and is licensed by the Ohio Board of Speech and Hearing Association. She is also a member of the Ohio Speech, Language and Hearing Association (OSHLA).

Jenni Parrish, B.S.
Jenni Parrish joined Specialized Speech Technologies, Inc. as the Front Office Administrator in June 2017. She graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications. She has worked in the media industry for 12 years gaining a multitude of customer service and client relations experience. Jenni is excited to use those skills to help aid families and the community. So, here she is at Specialized Speech Technologies, Inc. .... and loving it!
